Awarded to offset travel, lodging, and other expenses incurred while conducting dissertation research in Washington DC and Paris, France. $3080. 

Organization for Research on Women and Communication Research Grant, ORWAC, 2013-2014

The Abortion Monologues: (Re)Embodying the Stories Silenced by Dominant Discourses of Reproduction. Awarded with Suzanne Pullen for expenses associated with qualitative and performance-oriented work around abortion rhetorics and the muting of women’s experiences. $1000.

Phi Kappa Phi Outstanding Graduate Student Scholarship, ASU, 2013-2014

Chapter award to recognize top graduate students for continued academic achievement, commitment to learning, and community involvement. $1000.

To Think, To Write, To Publish Fellowship, 2012-2014

This project, funded by the National Science Foundation and ASU’s Center for Science and Policy Outcomes, builds collaborations between researchers and writers to bring scholarship to the public in the form of creatively written essays(Essay with co-author Angela Records accepted for digital publication in August 2014).

Hugh Downs School of Human Communication Summer Research Grant, ASU, 2013

Awarded for the development of two manuscripts for journal submission and to offset expenses for participation in the Rhetoric Society of America Summer Institute, “Memory History Archive Museum.” $2000.

National Communication Association Doctoral Honors Seminar, NCA, 2013

Competitively selected and funded for participation in the four-day annual NCA Doctoral Honors Seminar bringing top graduate students together with faculty from across the discipline and nation. 

Lattie and Elva Coor Fellowship for Building Great Communities, ASU, 2012-2013

Awarded for qualitative research on the representation of Native American culture in local museums, and for staff and docent training presentation at the Pueblo Grande Museum. $3000.
